Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder Sebastian Berhalter is reportedly finalizing a transfer to Middlesbrough F.C., an EFL Championship team. This move comes as Berhalter’s contract with the Whitecaps is set to expire this winter, positioning him for a summer transfer window departure.
According to reports, Middlesbrough will pay a transfer fee of approximately US$2 million to acquire Berhalter. This transfer follows interest from around six to ten clubs that pursued the USMNT member.

Berhalter, who is 25 years old, was a part of the United States‘ World Cup squad earlier this summer. He appeared in all five of the team’s matches during the tournament, making one start and scoring a goal against Turkey in the group stage. He also contributed an assist during the competition.

His contributions helped the Whitecaps secure a Canadian Championship title and reach both the Concacaf Champions Cup final and the MLS Cup final.
