The week concludes on Sunday with the Ottawa Redblacks hosting the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
In the Lions-Elks game, James Butler of the Lions had a notable performance in their previous encounter, recording 135 yards and two touchdowns. The Elks’ defence has been strong, forcing 16 turnovers this season. For the Alouettes and Stampeders, Tyson Philpot has been a standout, with nine catches for 132 yards and one touchdown in their last game, improving his record against his brother Jalen Philpot to 3-0. The Argonauts and Tiger-Cats game sees both teams entering with 2-3 records and two-game losing streaks. Backups Jake Dolegala and Tre Ford have combined for 181 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions over six quarters. Toronto’s offence, led by Chad Kelly, ranks first in passing yards per game and second in offensive points for. The Redblacks, still seeking their first win, will face the Blue Bombers, who may see Dru Brown start again after his performance last week, where he completed 25 of 31 passes for 339 yards and one touchdown.
Fantasy Football Insights for Key Positions
For fantasy players, several individuals are highlighted for their potential impact in Week 7. At quarterback, Vernon Adams Jr. of Calgary has not thrown an interception in 145 attempts and has accounted for 13 majors in his last three games. Nathan Rourke of BC is anticipated to have a strong run, while Davis Alexander of Montreal has thrown for at least 301 yards in each of his five games. Chad Kelly of Toronto is noted for his turnover tendencies, and Cody Fajardo of Edmonton is also a ranked option. An “Under the Radar” pick is Dru Brown of Winnipeg, especially if he starts against Ottawa’s defence, which has allowed 18 touchdown drives.
Running back recommendations include Justin Rankin of Edmonton, who is averaging 162.2 scrimmage yards per game. James Butler of BC previously had 162 yards and two majors against Edmonton. Tyler Snead leads the league with 764 depth yards and 15 targets of at least 20 yards. Tevin Jones is noted as the league’s best deep threat, averaging 20 yards per reception. Jermaine Jackson of BC, with 12 catches for 199 yards and a major in his last two games, is an “Under the Radar” pick.
Defensive and Kicking Unit Selections
For defences, the Edmonton Elks are highlighted for forcing a league-high 16 turnovers and facing a Lions team with a -2 turnover margin. The Montreal Alouettes defence has also created 10 turnovers. The Toronto Argonauts have forced 14 turnovers and have a favourable matchup against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats offence, which averages just 6.3 yards per play. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are matched against the Redblacks, who have a -9 turnover margin. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats defence could capitalize on Chad Kelly’s turnover tendencies.
Kickers recommended for Week 7 include José Maltos Díaz of Montreal, Vincent Blanchard of Edmonton, Brett Lauther of Ottawa, Sean Whyte of BC, and Sergio Castillo of Winnipeg.
