A new 12-year agreement will see Prime Video exclusively broadcast national NHL regular-season games on Wednesday nights in Canada, starting with the 2026-2027 season. This deal, announced by Prime Video and Rogers Communications, includes coverage in both English and French.
The agreement also grants Prime Video exclusive rights to certain Stanley Cup Playoff series in Canada. Specifically, this involves two First Round playoff series and one Second Round series annually. The full package guarantees at least 26 national regular-season NHL games, with the first broadcast scheduled for Wednesday, September 30. These games will be available to Prime members in Canada at no additional cost.

Tony Staffieri, President and CEO of Rogers, highlighted the significance of this partnership. He stated that the collaboration with Prime Video builds upon an existing strong foundation and reinforces NHL hockey as a valuable sports content in Canada. Rogers, identified as Canada’s home of hockey, aims to connect more fans with more NHL content and deliver an increased number of national games with fewer blackouts on Sportsnet.

He noted that this landmark agreement brings more premium live sports to Prime members in Canada. This marks the first time that postseason games will be broadcast in Canada outside of the Rogers family of networks, which include Sportsnet and Citytv, and CBC, since Rogers acquired exclusive NHL broadcast rights in 2014. Prime Video has been streaming NHL games in Canada for the past two seasons, previously carrying regular-season contests on Monday nights.
